Comments on “Study of Systematic Bias in Measuring Surface Deformation With SAR Interferometry”

چکیده
In a recent publication, Ansari et al. (2021) claimed (see, in particular, the Discussion and Recommendation Section their article) that advanced differential SAR interferometry (InSAR) algorithms for surface deformation retrieval, based on small baseline approach, are affected by systematic biases generated InSAR products. Therefore, to avoid such biases, they recommended strategy primarily focused excluding “the short temporal interferograms using long baselines decrease overall phase errors.” among various techniques, identified solution presented Manunta (2019) as processing approach where presence of above-mentioned (referred fading signal) compromises accuracy retrieved We show claim is not correct (at least) what concerns mentioned discussed (2019). Sentinel-1 dataset relevant same area Sicily (southern Italy) investigated (2021), we demonstrate products do any significant bias.

Measuring rock glacier surface deformation using SAR interferometry
The detection and quantification of surface deformation of an active rock glacier using the differential SAR interferometry technique is presented. An average deformation rate of 6 mm/35 days in the radar line-of-sight in the summer of 1992 was estimated. The maximum deformation rate was located at the upper part of the rock glacier and amounts to 18 mm/35 days. In contrast, at the snout of the...
متن کاملSurface deformation associated with the 2008 Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake from ALOS L-band SAR interferometry
The Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake (in China) occurred on 12 May 2008 as a result of slip on the northeastern-striking Longmen Shan (LMS) faults beneath the ruggedmargin between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Sichuan Basin. The catastrophic event caused significant surface ruptures and permanent ground displacement in a wide area. This paper concentrates on mapping surface deformation caused by the m...

We have examined the precision of interferometric SAR measurements of surface deformation of the Earth using 24-cm wavelength data acquired by the Japanese Earth Resources Satellite 1 (JERS 1) spacecraft, over the lzu peninsula, Japan. Radar images acquired from 1993 to 1994 were made into eleven independent interferograms. Apparent water vapor signatures with equivalent path delay up to 16 cm ...
